Tel Aviv man pulls gun on cops, is shot and wounded
Three other men flee the scene with police in pursuit near metropolis’s central bus station; no immediate indication incident is terror-related
A man in his 30s who aimed a gun at police officers in Tel Aviv late Wednesday was shot and seriously wounded by one of the cops.
The incident on Rishon Lezion Street in the city’s south began when the officers, from the special tactical unit Yasam, called on four men to stop. According to a police account, one of the men then turned around and pulled out a gun.
He was shot by one of the cops.
The three men who were with him fled the scene. Police launched a manhunt.
The wounded man was taken to Tel Aviv’s Ichilov Hospital in serious condition.
Police gave no indication the incident was terror-related.
