Two people were wounded in a suspected underworld shooting Thursday that apparently missed the intended target.
A man, 27, was seriously injured, and a woman, 24, suffered moderate injuries when a gunman opened fire at them in an apartment on Ha’Shunit Street in the central city of Yavneh.
Media reports said the woman was pregnant.
Magen David Adom paramedics attended to the two and then took them to the Kaplan Medical Center in Rehovot.
Police said the motive for the incident appeared to be criminal, indicating it was not terrorism.

Channel 10 news reported that the apartment is associated with a drug criminal known to police but that the victims were his brother and his sister-in-law.
An eyewitness said he saw a man enter the building and minutes later heard a number of gunshots, after which the same man was seen fleeing the scene, Hadashot news reported.
The Ynet news site reported a man in his twenties was arrested and police were checking if he was involved in the incident.
