Two people were killed after three cars collided near the Tel Nof airbase in central Israel on Monday, medics said.
The Magen David Ambulance service said in a statement they found a woman, around 20 years old, trapped in one of the cars, unconscious and suffering multiple injuries.
Medics were forced to declare her dead at the scene, MDA said.
The Israel Defense Forces said in a later statement that the woman was an officer. She was not immediately named.
Another unconscious woman was found by medics in a car in an open field near the road. Medics rescued the victim from the vehicle and attempted to resuscitate her while taking her to Kaplan Medical Center in critical condition.
Doctors were forced to declare her death shortly after her arrival, the hospital said.
A third female driver, 25, was lightly injured and taken to Kaplan Medical Center for treatment. The IDF said she was also a soldier.
Police said they opened an investigation into the crash.
According to the latest data published by the National Road Safety Authority, 30 people have been killed in traffic accidents since the beginning of 2023, an 11 percent increase compared to the same time last year.
