The unseasonably cold temperatures brought by the snowstorm that gripped much of the country in recent days are expected to continue at least until Wednesday, according to the Israel Meteorological Service.
Meteorologists forecast sunny weather and a slight increase in temperatures on Sunday, and a further rise on Monday and Tuesday before temperatures level off by Wednesday.
But even the slight warming will still leave Israel unseasonably cold, the IMS warned.
Jerusalem was set to see a high of seven degrees Celsius Sunday afternoon, dropping to 2° overnight; Tel Aviv from 13° to 5° overnight; Haifa 10°-6°; Beersheba 11°-3°; Eilat 17°-6°; Katzrin on the Golan Heights 9°-2°; Ashdod 14°-6°.
A warning was also in effect Sunday of high, dangerous sea levels on Israel’s Mediterranean coast. The warning is in effect until 2 p.m., with waves expected to reach 1.4 to eight meters in height.
