Zelensky thanks Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis for raising tens of millions for Ukraine
President of battered country holds video call with couple after their crowdfunding campaign raised nearly $35 million for refugee and humanitarian aid efforts

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Sunday thanked actors Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis for raising funds to aid his war-torn country.
The Ukrainian leader hosted a video call after the married couple’s GoFundMe campaign earned nearly $35 million toward refugee and humanitarian aid efforts.
The couple also pledged $3 million of their own money.
Posting a picture of the call on Twitter, Zelensky said the couple was “among the first to respond to our grief.”
“They have already raised $35 million & are sending it to @flexport & @Airbnb to help Ukrainian refugees. Grateful for their support. Impressed by their determination. They inspire the world. #StandWithUkraine.”
On the GoFundMe page, Kunis — who was born in Chernivtsi, Ukraine, in 1983 before moving with her family to the US in 1991 — described herself as a “proud Ukrainian.” She is also Jewish.

“Ukrainians are proud and brave people who deserve our help in their time of need. This unjust attack on Ukraine and humanity at large is devastating and the Ukrainian people need our support,” she wrote.
Even after reaching their goal, Kunis and Kutcher said their work was not done.
“We will do everything we can to ensure that the outpouring of love that came as a part of this campaign finds maximum impact with those in need,” they promised in an Instagram post.
