The air force’s retaliatory strike came shortly after three mortars landed in the Eshkol region earlier on Thursday.

No injuries or damage were reported in either incident.

The exchange of fire follows two weeks of relative calm after Israel agreed on a ceasefire with the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization, in an Egyptian-brokered deal.
