A foreign worker in Netanya stabbed his niece to death early Saturday morning and then killed himself.
The Eritrean man, said to have been in his 30s, was found lying on the floor next to his dead niece in a blood-covered apartment, according to police at the scene. Authorities are investigating the cause of the apparent murder-suicide.
Neighbors had heard screams coming out of the apartment and alerted police at approximately 6:30 AM, Police Commander Alon Aryeh told Walla News.
Police broke down the door to the apartment and entered to find the man in critical condition after apparently stabbing himself. Reshet Bet reported that by the time Magen David Adom workers arrived at the scene, both the man and his niece, said to have been in her 20s, were dead.
