Israeli and US Jewish leaders open trading to celebrate two countries’ alliance

Israeli and American Jewish leaders opened trading at the exchange on Tuesday in the presence of senior Israeli officials, Jewish leaders and guests from the America Israel Friendship League.
Israel Day 2012 focused mainly on the strong Israeli presence in New York’s “Silicon Alley,” and the cooperation between Cornell University and the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa in building the Cornell NYC Tech Campus on Roosevelt Island in New York City.
The event came as world attention was focused on the Israeli military’s Operation Pillar of Defense, which fought escalated rocket attacks from Gaza.
