A London-bound plane with 347 passengers and crew aboard was forced to return to Ben-Gurion International Airport shortly after takeoff Friday morning, after the jet’s flaps malfunctioned.

The El Al plane landed safely after dumping its fuel over the sea, Israel Radio reported.

Ben-Gurion airport had scrambled emergency services to the scene in anticipation of the emergency landing.
