Israeli entertainer Meital Dohan is following in the footsteps of Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj and other A-list pop stars by releasing a single with Sean Kingston, the musician behind a string of chart-topping hits.

The pair’s new music video, “On Ya,” was released Sunday, and looks capable of capturing at least a few hundred thousand YouTube views. The song, a club–friendly dance track with reggaeton influences, offers a sound similar to that of Kingston’s earlier hits, among them “Beautiful Girls,” an international smash in 2007. Kingston, whose other major hits include “Fire Burning” and “Eenie Meenie,” a collaboration with Bieber, has also worked with platinum-selling rappers TI and Wyclef Jean.

Partnering with Kingston may not be the coup it was a few years ago, but it still marks a professional milestone for Dohan, 33, who previously worked mostly as an actress. A two-time nominee for the Ophir, Israel’s version of the Oscar, Dohan later appeared on “The Sopranos,” and enjoyed a recurring role on “Weeds,” where she played a sharp-tongued administrator at a rabbinical school.

Dohan has branched  out into music more recently, gaining attention for a song called “Yummy.” The accompanying video, released earlier this year, features Dohan naked (but censored), except for knee-high boots and a pair of boxing gloves, and has garnered nearly two million views on YouTube.

Dohan’s collaboration with Kingston seems designed for a broader audience. It may not attract 93 million hits like his video with Bieber, but it’s surely good news for Dohan’s career.
