Canadian rock artist Bryan Adams will perform three shows in Israel at the end of the year, the Ynet news website reported Friday.

According to the site, Adams will play in Tel Aviv on December 4, followed by a Jerusalem show on December 6 and a third performance at an as-of-yet undecided location.

Ticket sales were expected to begin within days, with prices starting at NIS 200 (approx. $55).

Born in 1959, Adams spent much of his childhood traveling with his diplomat parents, including a stint in Israel in the early 1970s.

Adams’ Israel shows could be seen as something of a surprise, due to his expressing opinions critical of the Jewish state in the past. During the 2014 Gaza war between Israel and Hamas, Adams wrote several Twitter posts against Israel’s actions in Gaza.

Whether Adams has changed his opinions about the conflict, or simply decided that these should not prevent him from performing in Israel, his decision to play here will no doubt please his local fans.
