Bus crashes into Tel Aviv store, 4 lightly hurt
Driver, who reportedly got his license a week ago, says he does not know how he lost control of vehicle
A bus driver lost control of his vehicle in Tel Aviv and hit a storefront on Sunday afternoon, injuring several people
The Magen David Adom ambulance service said its medics treated a bus passenger in his 60s and took him to a hospital. He was listed in good condition.
Three others, including another passenger, a woman in the store, and a passerby, were also lightly hurt and treated at the scene on Ahad Ha’am Street. They did not require hospitalization, MDA said.
Security camera footage of the incident showed an SUV driving on the wrong side of the road, attempting to overtake a minivan.
The bus appears to move out of the way of the SUV as it drives onto the sidewalk, before swerving the other way and crashing into a clothing store on the other side of the street.
According to the Ynet news site, the SUV driver got his driver’s license a month and a half ago, and Channel 12 news reported that the bus driver has had his license for just a week.

The bus driver told the network he did not know how he had lost control of the vehicle.
The Organization of Bus Drivers at the Histadrut labor federation called on relevant bodies to act before the next accident occurs, saying the “causes and trends that cause buses to be the most dangerous means of transportation on the road should be investigated immediately.”
Police have opened an investigation into the incident.
