Cockpit porn-star party costs pilot his wings

Kuwait took away the license of a Kuwait Airways pilot who invited a former porn star and her friend into the cockpit for a champagne-fueled private party where they were invited to sit on the captain’s knee and fly the plane.

The UAE-based Gulf News website reported Saturday that Transportation Minister Eisa Al Kindari had made the announcement in a report to parliament about the incident.

Details of the report were also published by local daily newspaper al-Jarida.

The unnamed pilot’s actions represented a breach of numerous safety regulations, including bans on passengers inside the cockpit, introduced after the 9/11 terror attacks, according to the report.

In July, Al Kindari ordered an investigation into exactly what had happened during the flight from London to New York when the unnamed pilot invited British-born Chloe Mafia into the cockpit.

At the time, Britain’s tabloid Daily Star, which published photographs of the alleged incident, said it had also viewed video footage showing the unnamed pilot smoking in the cockpit. It did not say when the alleged incident took place.

The paper posted a video online purporting to show the pilot and Mafia singing in the cockpit. She said he sang songs to her and a friend, including “Hakuna Matata” from the movie The Lion King, and Toni Braxton’s “Un-break My Heart.”

Mafia, 24, a former contestant in Britain’s “X Factor” talent show who now lives in Los Angeles, said that the pilot sent a stewardess to fetch her and her friend to the cockpit soon after takeoff from London’s Heathrow Airport, locked the door behind them, offered them alcohol, and entertained them for hours as the plane, with 300 passengers on board, made its way to New York’s JFK airport.

“They locked the door and the captain introduced himself and said, ‘Hi, I’m the naughty pilot,’” Mafia — whose real name is Chloe Khan — told the paper. “He said he lets sexy girls into the cockpit, even though he’s not supposed to,” she went on. “The pilot told the stewardess to get us a bottle of champagne, which me and my friend drank. He started smoking, which I thought was odd, but he said he was the pilot and could do what he wanted. I asked if it was safe, as I was worried and he just said people were ‘too fussy’ about safety. I was stunned.”

At one point, she said, the pilot “was showing us what each of the buttons did and said we could sit on his knee and wear his pilot’s cap and fly the plane. I pushed something. I don’t know what it did, but he said it was fine as the plane flew itself.”

The co-pilot, she added, “didn’t smoke or really say that much — he made a couple of jokes, but thankfully he seemed more concerned with flying the plane.”

According to al-Jarida, although the pilots didn’t drink any alcohol, Mafia claimed the captain smoked 40 cigarettes during the approximately 6-hour journey.

The co-pilot was also demoted.
