SONORA, Calif. (AP) — One person was killed and four were injured after a tree fell at a Jewish summer camp near Yosemite National Park.
Authorities received calls on Wednesday about the mishap at Camp Tawonga in rural Tuolumne County.
Sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. Jim Oliver says the tree took down power lines but did not fall on a building. No children were injured, but one person was killed in the accident, the Los Angeles Times reported
Oliver did not know the severity of the injuries to the adult staff members who were taken to hospitals.
Sonora Regional Medical Center spokeswoman Gail Witzelsteiner said the hospital received two women ages 20 and 21 with minor injuries.
