FBI kills man linked to Boston Marathon bombings
Suspect, who reportedly knew Tamerlan Tsarnaev through martial arts, was shot after he attacked an agent

A man allegedly connected to the Boston Marathon bombings last month was shot and killed by an FBI agent, NBC reported Wednesday.
The man, identified as 27-year-old Ibragim Todashev, was interviewed by the FBI for about 3 hours on Tuesday, according to reports. He initially cooperated, but at some point in the process attacked an agent, who then fired his weapon.
Todashev was said to have known Tamerlan Tsarnaev, who was killed in a police shootout several days after the bombings, through the world of mixed martial arts.
According to Wesh-TV in Orlando, Khusn Taramiv, a friend of Todashev, said he was also questioned by the FBI.
“(The FBI) took me and my friend, the suspect that got killed. They were talking to us, both of us, right? And they said they need him for a little more, for a couple more hours, and I left, and they told me they’re going to bring him back. They never brought him back,” Taramiv told the station.
“He felt inside he was going to get shot,” Taramiv said. “I told him, ‘Everything is going to be fine, don’t worry about it.’ He said, ‘I have a really bad feeling.'”
The FBI confirmed that the suspect was “deceased.”
“We are currently responding to a shooting incident involving an FBI special agent,” FBI Special Agent Dave Couvertier said in a statement to NBC News.
“The incident occurred in Orlando, Florida. The agent encountered the suspect while conducting official duties,” Couvertier said. “We do not have any further details at this time. We expect to have more information later this morning.”
