IDF troops and Border Police forces arrested eight wanted Palestinians in overnight raids in the West Bank, the army said Friday morning. The IDF also issued advance notice of house demolition for the homes of seven Palestinians who carried out deadly terror attacks on Israelis.
One of the eight detainees is suspected of involvement in terrorism, mass disturbances and violence toward civilians and security forces, the army said. At least seven are said to be members of the Hamas terrorist organization.
In the Nablus area, troops arrested four suspected Hamas operatives, while three more were arrested in the Ramallah region. All eight detainees were transferred for interrogation by security forces.
Troops also handed out demolition notices for the home of Ihab Maswada from Hebron, who murdered Genadi Kaufman in a stabbing attack near the Tomb of the Patriarchs on December 7, 2015; the Qalandiya homes of Issa Assaf and Anan Abu Habsah, who killed Rabbi Reuben Birmajer in a stabbing attack at Jaffa Gate in Jerusalem on December 23, 2015; the Beit ‘Amra home of Abdullah Dais, who murdered Dafna Meir on January 17, 2016; and the Nablus homes of Bassam Saih, Ragheb Ahmad Muhammad Aliwi and Zir Ziad Jamal Amar, all members of the cell responsible for the murders of Eitam and Naama Henkin on October 1, 2015.
Meanwhile, the High Court on Thursday issued a temporary stay of execution for the demolition of the homes of two Palestinians who killed five Israelis in separate attacks on November 19, 2015.
