Four wounded Syrians were treated by IDF medics on Wednesday morning, after they approached the Israel-Syrian border evidently seeking medical attention.

According the IDF, two of the wounded received medical care adjacent to the border fence and “will be returned to Syria later on,” but the other two were seriously wounded by what appeared to be shrapnel from mortar fire and were evacuated to Rambam hospital in Haifa for further treatment.

In February for the first time, seven severely wounded Syrians were treated in an Israeli hospital for wounds inflicted in clashes between rebels and the military. Afterwards, the IDF announced plans to build a field hospital near the Israeli-Syrian border in order to treat the expected stream of Syrians wounded in the civil war seeking medical attention.
