Israeli tennis player delivers upset in US Open
Julia Glushko, ranked 138, defeats Nadia Petrova (23) in straight sets; follows Monday’s victory 5-set win for Dudi Sela

Rising Israeli tennis player Julia Glushko beat out Russia’s Nadia Petrova 6:3, 6:4 in the first round of the US Open Tuesday night.
The win was quite an achievement for Glushko, ranked 138th in the world, since Petrova ranks 23rd.
On Monday night, Israel’s top male tennis player Dudi Sela won a five-set first-round marathon against Andrey Kutzenov of Russia.
Sela ranks 77th in the world while Kutzenov places six places below him.
Sela is up against Serbia’s Janko Tipsarevic next.
