Israeli judoka fighter Golan Pollack won the bronze medal in the under 66-kilogram weight class at the World Judo Championship in Kazakhstan on Tuesday.

Pollack, who is ranked 23rd in the world, beat Tomorkholg Debadig from Mongolia with just five seconds on the clock.

The 23-year-old Pollack is the first Israeli to take home a medal in the prestigious international judo tournament in over ten years.

Pollack won five fights during the day’s tournaments and only lost one battle during the semifinals.

Last month, at the European Games in Baku, Azerbaijan, Israeli judoka Sagi Muki took home the gold medal in the under 73-kilogram weight class and Ori Sasson took home the silver in the over 100-kilogram weight class.
