After heated exchange, Turkey and Israel to exchange diplomats
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleTurkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu says in a press conference that Ankara and Jerusalem will soon exchange diplomats, days after Turkey’s parliament ratified a detente deal with Israel ending a six-year official rift.
In a press conference, Cavusoglu says the exchange will take place “in the coming days,” according to a report in Turkish news outlet Haber10.
The announcement comes a day after Israel and Turkey exchanged a verbal spat, with Ankara saying the rapprochement wouldn’t stop them from criticizing Israel over Gaza.
Jerusalem later shot back that it wouldn’t stop calling Turkey out for “baseless condemnations,” and warned the country to “think twice” before criticizing the military actions of others.
