The fifth round of talks between Israel and Syria will start tomorrow in Paris, Axios reports, citing an Israeli official and another source with knowledge of the details.
The negotiations are expected to last two days.
US President Donald Trump asked Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to restart the talks when they met last week at Mar-a-Lago, according to the report.
Trump’s Syria envoy Tom Barrack, who is also the US ambassador to Turkey, will mediate the talks.
With the resignation of Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer, Netanyahu placed his US Ambassador Yechiel Leiter at the head of the Israeli team, along with Military Secretary Maj. Gen. Roman Gofman and acting National Security Adviser Gil Reich, reports Axios.
Syria’s Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani will represent the Syrian side.
