A reconstructed pilot neighborhood for Gazans will begin to take in residents in November, pending progress in the emerging deal to disarm Hamas, Channel 12 reports.
It is meant to be located in the part of the Strip that the IDF currently controls. Land for that purpose has been cleared.
The Board of Peace tells the outlet that there will be no reconstruction until Hamas is disarmed, and concrete factories will be used solely for plugging up tunnels.
The pilot zones will expand if disarmament continues.
Civilians will pass through checkpoints to get to the new neighborhood under construction.
Tens of thousands of Gazans are meant to move to the zone in its first stage, according to the outlet. Police forces with no connection to Hamas will ensure the terror group can’t infiltrate the site.
