Dimona mayor named as official probed for sexual harassment

Police reveal the identity of the public official probed for sexually harassing a municipal employee as Dimona Mayor Benny Biton.

Authorities say they interrogated Biton for several hours before releasing him.

The Likud mayor’s lawyer’s release a statement asserting that opponents “are trying to use the police as a tool for political bashing” ahead of municipal elections.

Biton was interrogated on suspicion of having sexually harassed a subordinate, municipal council member on several occasions, Hebrew media reports.
