Hundreds riot in East Jerusalem after young man’s funeral

Police say hundreds of Palestinians rioted in East Jerusalem’s Shuafat refugee camp this afternoon. The protests took place after the funeral of a young man who was killed by Israeli army fire overnight. Israel says he fired a weapon at soldiers before being shot.

Rioters hurled rocks and firebombs at the soldiers. One person who came near the troops was shot in the leg. He was evacuated by the Red Crescent to a Palestinian hospital.
