Iran says it targeted ‘separatist groups’ that intended to enter through western borders

Iran’s intelligence ministry says the country targeted posts of “separatist groups” that  intended to enter through western borders, adding that they sustained heavy losses.

Iranian Kurdish militias have consulted with the United States in recent days about whether, and how, to attack Iran’s security forces in the western part of the country, according to three sources with knowledge of the matter.

Some reports last night said a cross-border operation had been launched, before this was denied by Iran.

The Iranian ministry statement, carried by state media, says Iranian forces are cooperating with “noble Kurds” to thwart the “Israeli-American” plan to attack Iranian soil.
