Rouhani: Israel ‘the most daunting threat’ to world peace
Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani calls the Israeli-Palestinian conflict the “most pressing crisis” in the Middle East and claims the Jewish state is the greatest threat to world peace.
“The innumerable crimes of Israel against the Palestinians would not have been possible without the political and military assistance” of the US,” he charges in a speech to the UN General Assembly.
He accuses Israel of “blatantly threatening others with nuclear annihilation” and says the Jewish state constitutes “the most daunting threat to regional and global peace.”
Rouhani calls Trump’s decision to move the US embassy in Israel to Jerusalem “abhorrent” and said recent legislation defining Israel as the nation-state of the Jewish people is “racist” and a “manifestation of apartheid.”
