Soldier who shot Halamish terrorist to receive IDF medal
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleThe off-duty soldier who shot and wounded the Palestinian terrorist as he carried out a deadly stabbing in the West Bank settlement of Halamish last month will be awarded a medal by the IDF for stopping the attack.
The soldier from the IDF’s elite canine special forces unit, identified only as Sgt. A., heard the screams of his neighbors as Omar al-Abed attacked members of the Salomon family in their home.
Sgt. A. ran to the window of the house and shot the 19-year-old killer, moderately wounding him.
