Trump urges Iranian diplomats abroad to request asylum, help shape better future for their country

US President Donald Trump says the US and Israel “continue to totally demolish the enemy, far ahead of schedule.”

“We’re destroying more of Iran’s missiles and drone capability every single hour,” he claims during an event at the White House, adding that the US has sunk 24 Iranian ships in three days.

He claims 60% of Iran’s missiles have been destroyed and 64% of its missile launchers have been destroyed.

“But they’re tough, and they want to fight,” Trump says, while again claiming that Iranian officials are calling up the US looking to make a deal. Iran’s foreign minister denied that it was the case hours earlier.

Trump says he’s not interested in a deal, regardless.

He recalls that his administration announced steps yesterday aimed at keeping oil prices down amid the war.

“Further action to reduce pressure on oil is imminent, and the oil seems to have pretty much stabilized,” Trump says, again acknowledging that prices will likely rise due to the war.

Trump once again calls on all members of Iran’s security forces to lay down their arms in exchange for immunity or face immediate death.

He tells the Iranian people, “You’re going to have a chance, after all these years, to take back your country.”

“We also urge Iranian diplomats around the world to request asylum and to help us shape a new and better Iran with great potential,” Trump says, the first time he has issued such a call.

“The United States will ensure that whoever leads the country next, Iran will not threaten America or its neighbors.”

He laments that even before the war started, Iran had its missiles aimed at Mideast countries that have not even been hostile to the Islamic Republic.

“They were going after the entire Middle East, and then we came along. We blew up their party,” Trump says.
