Ya’alon says it’s a ‘hard day’ for all Israelis

Former defense minister Moshe Ya’alon responds to the Azaria verdict.

“This is a hard day for us all — for the Azaria family, for the citizens of Israel, and for me,” he writes on Facebook.

Ya’alon, who was defense minister when the shooting took place, last week addressed the case. “We don’t just shoot at people,” said Ya’alon, “not even if he’s a terrorist, not even at another soldier who just shot at you but has now surrendered and has been neutralized, we don’t just shoot.”
