A man who last week sent threatening messages to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was arrested on Monday.
A preliminary investigation determined the 25-year-old Nazareth Illit resident suffers from a mental illness, police said Tuesday according to Hebrew media reports.
“I am the king of the underworld, I am the king of the universe. I created my own empire, I press buttons and manage world systems,” the unidentified man wrote on September 4, apparently through the Prime Minister’s Office website.
“I have loaded my gun with a single iron bullet, and I’m playing Russian roulette with your head, Netanyahu,” the man wrote.

“I have soldiers everywhere, and I will send them to break down and destroy your energies,” he added.

“I am stronger than Moses and David, you have no one else to rely on because I am stronger than God. In the end, I will be prime minister,” he wrote in a later message.
He also demanded the prime minister deposit NIS 2.5 million in his bank account each month.
The suspect was to be brought before the Nazareth Magistrate’s Court later on Tuesday for a remand hearing.

We can't do this work alone.
The war with Iran has been draining for all of us in Israel. But when I heard about a high casualty incident – ballistic missile impacts in Arad and Dimona that left nearly 200 people wounded – I drank a cup of coffee, packed a bag, and headed south.
There, I spoke with Shilgit, the head of an after-school program for underprivileged youth. Standing outside her destroyed center, Shilgit said it was a miracle that no children were hurt and spoke about the community coming together in the hours since.
As a Times of Israel reporter, I’m committed to telling stories of resilience like Shilgit’s. But my colleagues and I can't do this alone.
