An IDF soldier tried to board a train Sunday while carrying part of an anti-aircraft munition in her bag, the Israel Police said in a statement.
The servicewoman was stopped by security guards at Tel Aviv’s Savidor station, Israel’s busiest railway station. The guards found the munition when they X-rayed the soldier’s bag as she was entering the station, then notified the police, Hebrew media reported.
Police said the item was an old anti-aircraft round and that sappers were brought in to examine it.
A photograph showed what appeared to be a large-caliber, rusted bullet.
According to the reports, the soldier had picked up the bullet at the base where she is serving. It apparently did not contain any explosives.

Acquaintances reportedly said that the soldier wanted to fashion an ashtray from the bullet.
Details of the incident were handed over to the Military Police. It was unclear whether the soldier had been detained.
