Trump says Muslim judge might also treat him unfairly
Amid criticism over his attacks on federal judge in Trump U case, GOP candidate claims a Muslim would also be biased

The Republican party’s presumptive nominee, Donald Trump, said on Sunday that “it’s possible” he wouldn’t be treated fairly if the federal judge hearing a lawsuit against Trump University was Muslim.
Trump responds “it’s possible, yes,” when asked on CBS’s “Face the Nation” whether he’d feel a Muslim judge would treat him unfairly because of his policies.
Trump has called for banning Muslims from entering the United States.
The billionaire magnate has also proposed building a wall along the border between the United States and Mexico. He’s been arguing that US District Judge Gonzalo Curiel, who is overseeing the case, is biased against him because of the border proposal and the judge’s heritage.
Curiel is an Indiana native whose parents are Mexican.
“He is a member of a club or society, very strongly pro-Mexican, which is all fine,” Trump said Sunday.
“But I say he’s got bias. I want to build a wall. I’m going to build a wall. I’m doing very well with the Latinos, with the Hispanics, with the Mexicans – I’m doing very well with them, in my opinion,” he claimed.
Previously, Trump called Curiel “a hater of Donald Trump.”
Trump University is the target of two lawsuits in San Diego and one in New York that accuse the business of fleecing students with unfulfilled promises to teach secrets of success in real estate. Trump has maintained that customers were overwhelmingly satisfied. Despite the candidate’s rhetoric, Trump’s legal team has not sought to have Curiel removed.
Trump already has rejected calls for him to adjust his approach, condemned by many in the Republican party.
