UK police have launched a manhunt for a suspect in a double murder in the London neighborhood of Golders Green on Friday.

Police were looking for Joshua Cohen, 27, whom they said has paranoid schizophrenia, in the fatal stabbings of two women, a 66-year-old and a 33-year-old, at a home in the neighborhood in northwest London. The area has a large Jewish population.

A police spokesman said UK police were working with the Community Security Trust (CST), a security company that runs patrols to protect the Jewish community, to locate Cohen. Police said he knew both women.

Detective Inspector Ian Lott, of the Met’s homicide and major crime command told the Guardian: “This was a devastating attack on two women in their homes. The individual we are seeking was known to them and, from all the information we have, acted alone.

“I would urge anyone who saw anything in the local area at the time of the attack to get in touch with investigators immediately,” he added.

Police warned people not to approach the suspect but to call authorities if they see him.

Cohen was described as 5’9”, last seen wearing a red Nike hoodie and white trainers. Detectives added that he had recently shaved his head and eyebrows.
