A Border Policeman was killed after his gun accidentally went off Thursday.
An initial investigation suggested the soldier was checking his personal weapon when it fired, a Border Police spokesperson said.
The soldier was airlifted from his base, located east of Jerusalem, to the Hadassah Hospital in Ein Kerem, with an entry wound in his chest. He passed away from the injuries a few hours later.
