Palestinian passenger stabs, seriously wounds cab driver

A 30-year-old taxi driver was stabbed and seriously wounded by a Palestinian passenger shortly after 12 a.m. Tuesday in Kfar Saba.
The driver picked up the Kfar Saba-bound passenger in Tel Aviv. When they reached their destination, the passenger stabbed the driver several times and fled the scene.
Police later apprehended the suspect, with the assistance of other taxi drivers, and he was being held by the Shin Bet security service for questioning Tuesday. He was reported to have confessed to the crime.
Authorities believe the perpetrator was working in Israel illegally, and that he acted on his own initiative.
The victim was taken to Meir Hospital in Kfar Saba, where he was in stable condition.
