Some say President Barack Obama put him up to it. But whatever influences were brought to bear on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, he will finally be appearing on satiric comedy show “Eretz Nehederet,” during the Independence Day episode airing Tuesday night.
Negotiations between the studio and the prime minister’s office were ongoing for some time, until the show finally booked the prime minister for the Independence Day episode. Members of the cast told the Mako news site that the prime minister put their doubts to rest and proved his comic mettle when he taped his segment at the show’s Herzliya studio last Thursday.
During the episode, the prime minister sat with his comic counterpart, comedian Mariano Edelman, both of them dressed in the same suit and tie. Outside of that one sneak peek, no one’s telling what was said.
Viewers who want to hear the meeting between Bibi and, er, Bibi will have to tune into “Eretz Nehederet” on Tuesday, April 16, Channel 2, at 9 p.m.
