Two youths were killed and another was critically injured overnight Friday in a car crash in the western Galilee. The two victims, Wafa Abdullah, the 18-year-old driver, and Hussam Abdullah, 17, were relatives.

Abdullah’s car skidded off the road near Ma’alot-Tarshiha, probably after he lost control of the vehicle, and crashed into a tree, splitting in two as a result. The two were already dead when MDA personnel arrived at the scene.

The police were investigating whether Abdullah was driving over the speed limit when the accident occurred. He was a new driver, the police added.

A third 15-year-old passenger, also a relative, was gravely injured. He was found outside the car when personnel arrived. He was evacuated by helicopter and taken to Haifa’s Rambam Medical Center.

All three youths were residents of the Galilee village of Kisra.
