There’s a wide range of performers heading this way this summer, and the latest is deadmau5, pronounced “dead mouse” — the masked Canadian DJ and producer also known as Joel Zimmerman.
It’s the first time in Israel for deadmau5, who will perform June 8 in Rishon Lezion’s Live Park as part of his world tour.
The show is part of XL:Extraloud, an all-night electronic music festival that includes Omri Guetta, Stephan Bazbaz, Jenia Tarsal, Astrix and Freedom Fighters.
Zimmerman is known for his mix of progressive house music, and has received six Grammy nominations for his work.
His tracks “I Remember” with Kaskade and “Ghosts ‘n’ Stuff” with Rob Swire reached number one on the Billboard Dance/Mix chart.
The Lollapalooza and Tomorrowland festival headliner is also known for his open and honest Twitter feed, where he keeps in touch with fans.
It’s there that he’s emphasized that he’s not Jewish, despite his name, which would not stand out at a Yom Kippur appeal.
