IDF detains armed Palestinian woman at security barrier
Suspect questioned after attempting to enter Israel with shotgun, tells investigators she was sent by Hamas
Israeli security forces on Sunday arrested a Palestinian woman who allegedly attempted to enter Israel from the northern West Bank city of Qalqilya with a shotgun concealed on her back.
During questioning, the woman told investigators that Hamas sent her to carry out an attack against Israelis, according to Channel 2.
Israel saw a wave of terror attacks by Palestinians using guns, knives and vehicles in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and the West Bank in the last year. Over two dozen Israelis were killed in these attacks, including children.
Last week, an Israeli man was killed and another was injured in a shooting attack near the settlement of Dolev, northwest of Jerusalem. A Palestinian group claiming affiliation with Hamas took responsibility for the attack.

Two days later, a Palestinian teenager stabbed and critically wounded a border policeman outside Jerusalem’s Damascus Gate. While Hamas did not claim responsibility for the stabbing, the group took to social media after the stabbing to hail the attack as “heroic.”
