Israeli forces raided and shut down an arms workshop in the West Bank town of Hebron overnight Wednesday, with the military calling it the biggest illegal weapons manufacturer found in the past year.
Forces uncovered two metal lathes in the workshop as part of what the army said is an ongoing effort to clamp down on weapons manufacturers and illegally held weapons in Palestinian areas.
Forces have uncovered several arms workshops in Hebron and other West Bank cities as part of a bolstered effort to shut down arms manufacturing and running over the past year.
A number of terror attacks have been carried out with makeshift rifles manufactured in underground workshops in the West Bank.
The IDF said in a statement it was “working night and day and will continue to act to disrupt terror and prevent terror acts in the area.”

In other overnight operations in the West Bank forces arrested eight suspects, most of whom were sought for violent rioting against Israeli civilians and security forces, the army said.
The suspects were taken in for questioning.
The army said it also seized a vehicle in the town of Beit Ummar, southwest of Jerusalem, that had been used to transport rioters.

We can't do this work alone.
The war with Iran has been draining for all of us in Israel. But when I heard about a high casualty incident – ballistic missile impacts in Arad and Dimona that left nearly 200 people wounded – I drank a cup of coffee, packed a bag, and headed south.
There, I spoke with Shilgit, the head of an after-school program for underprivileged youth. Standing outside her destroyed center, Shilgit said it was a miracle that no children were hurt and spoke about the community coming together in the hours since.
As a Times of Israel reporter, I’m committed to telling stories of resilience like Shilgit’s. But my colleagues and I can't do this alone. If you value work like this, please consider joining our reader support group, The Times of Israel Community. Your financial support is essential to keep real human reporting like this going.
