Iran says no talks with US on Hormuz, deal with Oman won’t open strait
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleIran is not currently holding talks with the United States and is now in discussions with Oman over a temporary safe route through the Strait of Hormuz, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei says.
Baghaei adds that reaching an agreement with Oman is not sufficient to fully reopen the strait, as the situation will remain unchanged while US “aggression” continues.
US President Donald Trump said Sunday night that negotiations with Iran would begin today to finalize a deal that reopens the Strait of Hormuz, after he again called off a major attack on the Islamic Republic over the weekend.
