James Blunt adds TA tour date
British pop star, who recently called his debut hit ‘annoying,’ to stop in Israel February

The British singer-songwriter James Blunt will perform in Tel Aviv for the first time on February 7, 2015, according to his website.
Blunt, who rose to fame with the chart-topping 2005 single “You’re Beautiful,” will perform in Tel Aviv’s Nokia Arena as part of his world tour promoting the release of his fourth studio album, “Moon Landing.”
“Back to Bedlam,” Blunt’s debut album from 2004, sold over 11 million copies worldwide, reaching Platinum status in 14 countries. His later efforts have failed to drum up the same excitement.
Before becoming a world-known musician, Blunt was a British army officer, and served under NATO in Kosovo during the conflict in 1999.
Last month, Blunt publicly admitted his claim-to-fame hit “You’re Beautiful” to be annoying. “[It] was force-fed down people’s throats,” Blunt told Hello! Magazine.
The artist also expressed dismay over the way he was publicly marketed, saying he was painted out to be “an insanely serious person.
“I think, at the end of the day, I was marketed by a record company to appeal to women during Desperate Housewives commercials,” Blunt told the magazine.
Tickets, ranging between NIS 200 and NIS 794, are available online.
