Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman on Wednesday repeated Israel’s offer of humanitarian aid to victims of government violence in Syria.

While meeting with Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico and Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajcak in the capital of Bratislava, Liberman said  “Despite a lack of diplomatic relations with Syria we wish to send humanitarian aid. Innocent lives are at stake, and this is unacceptable.”

Various sources have placed the number killed in the Syrian uprising at over 9,000 in the past year. In early March, Liberman voiced a similar offer during a meeting with Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev.
