120 rabbis urge public to prevent Amona evacuation
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleDozens of national-religious rabbis are publishing an open letter calling on the Israeli public to go to the Amona outpost in the West Bank in order to prevent its anticipated demolition on December 25.
The 120 signatories include Rabbis Haim Drukman, the head of Bnei Akiva yeshivas; Yaakov Ariel, the chief rabbi of Ramat Gan; Shmuel Eliyahu, the chief rabbi of Safed; Dov Lior, the chief rabbi of Kiryat Arba; and Shlomo Aviner, the chief rabbi of Beit El.
The statement is the first of its kind by senior rabbis since the evacuation of the Gush Katif settlement bloc in Gaza in 2005.
