Ronen Ginsburg, the CEO of Israeli construction giant Danya Cebus, is named as a suspect in the widening corruption investigation into Likud MK David Bitan and senior Rishon Lezion city officials.
The Rishon Lezion Magistrate’s court earlier extended Ginsburg’s remand by six days at the request of police.
According to Hadashot TV news, police suspect that Bitan received NIS 300,000 ($86,000) from Danya Cebus, a subsidiary of Africa Israel Investments Ltd.
In response to the reports, Africa Israel released a statement earlier today, confirming that Danya Cebus was involved in the corruption investigation.
“The company is informing investors that, according to the best of our knowledge, police are investigating Rishon Lezion projects involving Danya Cebus,” the statement says.
