Hundreds protest beating death of Palestinian prisoner in Nablus
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GooglePalestinian security forces in Nablus are reportedly breaking up large protests being held against the beating death of a jailed man by local police.
Video posted to social media shows hundreds of people running through the streets fleeing what appears to be police shooting tear gas.

Ahmed Halawa, the alleged leader of a group of Palestinians who attacked police earlier this month, killing two, was arrested by police overnight and taken to the city’s Jneid prison, Nablus governor Akram Rajub told the official Palestinian news agency WAFA.
Once there, he was severely beaten by security personnel, lost consciousness and later died, Rajub said.
Hamas, which runs the Gaza Strip and is a bitter rival of the Fatah-run Palestinian Authority ruling the West Bank, condemned Halawa’s “execution.”
It said it showed “the bloody nature of the Palestinian Authority’s security services.”
