Iranian judoka forced to avoid Israelis congratulates Israeli champion Muki
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleIranian judoka Saeid Mollaei, who has fled his home country after criticizing Tehran for pressuring him to throw matches to avoid competing against Israelis, takes to Instagram to congratulate Israel’s world champion, Sagi Muki.
“Congratulation champion,” Mollaei replies to a post by Muki, who won gold in last week’s judo world championship in Tokyo.
“Thank you,” Muki responds. “You are an inspiration as a human being and as an athlete.”
