Israel delays appointing new Turkey envoy – report
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleThe Israeli Foreign Ministry has postponed a meeting to nominate a new ambassador to Turkey, reports say.
The meeting, scheduled for October 27, has been postponed and no new date was set, says Arad Nir of Channel 2 news.
A Foreign Ministry spokesperson confirms to The Times of Israel that the meeting has been postponed but does not say why.
Appointing a new ambassador is a key component of the agreement between Israel and Turkey to restore ties after years on the outs.
