Liberman: Boycott Joint (Arab) List in Knesset for missing Peres’s funerel
Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman calls for a boycott of the parliamentary activities of members of the Joint (Arab) List for their decision to skip former president Shimon Peres’s funeral.
Liberman told a meeting of the heads of coalition parties that missing Peres’s funeral should be considered a red line.
The Joint List party announced before the funeral that its members would not participate, citing a “complicated” history.

At the time, Joint List chair MK Ayman Odeh, defended the unanimous decision of his party members not to attend, saying it was a “national day of mourning in which I have no place; not in the narrative, not in the symbols that exclude me, not in the stories of Peres as a man who built up Israel’s defenses.”
