Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expresses “deep sorrow” at the passing of Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein, who died of sudden heart failure earlier in the evening.

Eckstein “did much to benefit the citizens of Israel and to strengthen the connection between Israel and Christian communities. May his memory be a blessing.”

Eckstein was the founder and president of the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews. His funeral will be held in Jerusalem tomorrow.
